The Pancit Bihon Guisado recipe is a Filipino noodle stir-fry. Pancit Bihon is a Filipino noodle dish. A popular dish for special occasions and even everyday meals or snacks.
You normally see this recipe, especially during birthdays because of the Filipino belief that it can give you long life. The long noodle strands symbolize long life as they say thus, it is being served during a birthday celebration.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 kilo pork belly - remove the skin part, thinly sliced
- black pepper powder to taste
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- salt to taste
- 1 medium onion, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small carrot, julienne
- 4 pcs green beans
- snow peas
- 1/2 medium cabbage
- 2 cups water
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 pork cube
- black pepper powder to taste
- seasoning granules of your choice
- 227g pancit bihon noodle
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- fresh calamansi juice
Instructions:
- Prepare all the ingredients above, slice the meat and vegetables
- In a pan, put pork belly and mix until it renders its water
- Add black pepper powder to taste
- Add 2 tbsp soy sauce, then mix
- Add a pinch of salt, and mix until the water evaporates
- Then, add the onion and garlic, then mix
- After 2 minutes, add carrots, then mix
- Add the green beans (baguio beans), mix, and cover for 1 minute
- Add snow peas and cabbage, then cover to steam the cabbage
- After 1 minute, mix until the cabbage is cooked
- Set aside
- In the same pan, add 2 cups of water, 3 tbsp soy sauce, pork cube, and pepper
- Mix well and let it boil
- Once boiling, add the pancit noodles
- Cover and allow the noodles to get cooked
- When the noodle is almost cooked, add 2 tbsp oyster sauce, mix
- Add the cooked pork and vegetables
- Mix everything and serve with a splash of fresh calamansi juice
